Once you see a bike that you like, fill out the Buyer Contact Info Form at the bottom of the listing. This no way obligates you to purchase the bike – or even make an offer. It just allows us to forward your information to the seller so that he can contact you to answer other questions or forward additional photos directly to you.
All details, including actual purchase price, transfer of payment and vehicle hand-off, are handled directly between you and the seller. Motobilia works with several reliable shippers. If you would like a quote, go to the “Shippers” tab (under “FAQ”) and you will see a list of shippers that we have worked with in the past. You can contact them directly.

Buying FAQ's

What is the buyer’s fee on Motobilia Marketplace?
Absolutely zero. That’s the beauty of Motobilia. We simply put sellers together with potential buyers. The seller has already paid a fixed price to list his bike. You pay the seller exactly what you negotiate and Motobilia takes nothing else.

Once the seller contacts you, be prepared to ask any questions you may have about the bike – condition, title or Bill of Sale, any additional photos you’d like, or to request an inspection. Although Motobilia does its very best to vet sellers and their bikes, it is always a good idea to be prudent in ANY dealings involving relatively large purchases.

Online scams to watch out for:

  • Gift card scam: The seller tells the buyer to use pre-paid gift cards for some or all of the purchase. The gift cards are untraceable.
  • Deposit fraud: Watch out for a situation where the seller asks for a large deposit or asks you to send money to a third party. In this scenario, the buyer may pay but then never hear from the seller again. It is a good practice to use a trusted escrow service for remote transactions, or if possible, exchange payment in person when you pick up the bike.
  • Bitcoin: The Federal Trade Commission also says to be cautious of bitcoin since fraud protection is the not the same as for a credit card or bank.
  • Fake escrow accounts: These accounts look as if they come from a legitimate third party, but the seller is the one who actually set it up and the payment goes directly to them.
Motobilia does not offer inspection services. If you would like to have a vehicle inspected, contact the seller to make arrangements. All inspections should be conducted prior to the transfer of any-funds towards the purchase of the bike.
All payment and title and ownership transfer logistics are handled between the buyer and seller.

Create your listing

Posting a motorcycle or piece of Memorabilia for sale on Marketplace is easy and intuitive. First, go to the “Become a Member” tab and fill outyour information. It’s easy and free.
Next, go to the Marketplace tab “Submitting Your Bike” and follow the prompts for uploading important details – ten high-quality photos, a detailed description and any supporting documents or items – and you’ll be selling in no time. You can certainly have your photos professionally taken, but you can also do it yourself. Detail your motorcycle and take it to a nice location with no distractions in the background. Take pies that show the bike on all sides and also whatever detail pies you might think would be important for showcasing your motorcycle.

Your motorcycle will be available for sale on our platform for three months (with the option to renew at a discounted rate.) Potential buyers will fill outa contact form on Motobilia and we will forward this contact information to you. Be wary about any potential buyer who offers to buy your bike sight unseen or without asking any questions. All negotiations are strictly between you and the potential buyer.
After you accept an offer, you and the buyer will work together to make arrangements for the payment and delivery. Selling FAQ's

What does it cost to list my bike on Motobilia Marketplace?
The normal fee for listing a bike on Marketplace is $500 for three months. The only exception to this is for bikes in the “Tier 2” category (bikes priced at $5,000 – $9,999), which are listed for $300 tor three months. For any category, at the end of three months, you may choose to re-list your bike tor $300. If it does not sell after two listing periods (six months), you must wait at least 3 months before you can re-list. There are NO additional fees – no buyer’s premiums and no seller’s premiums.
All listings are curated by our staff for accuracy, spelling, and suitability for the listing category. This can take as long as a week.

Although many buyers are wary of bikes without a title, Motobilia recognizes that many dirt bikes or race bikes were NEVER titled from new. Titling regulations have always varied from State to State. Please note on your ad listing whether your bike will be sold with title or strictly on a bill of sale.

Your ad will believe for a total of three months, at the end of which you will have the option to renew the ad for another three months at the discounted rate of $300.
Obviously, having the very best quality photos of your bike will be the primary selling tool. However, a complete description of the features, condition, and any supporting documents or accessories will answer buyer questions and entice them to contact you.

To mitigate risk, avoid uploading photos that display information you do not want shared to the public, such as your address, house number and license plate numbers. When uploading documents containing private information, it is recommended that those fields are blurred or blocked.

lt’s your listing and you’re in the driver’s seat. Do not exceed your comfortability level.

  • As a seller, it is completely up to you how you would like to facilitate the exchange of funds, document the sale, transfer title and ownership, and coordinate pick­ up/drop-off of the vehicle.
  • If you do not want to sell to a buyer without meeting them in person, that's okay!
  • Be wary about any potential buyer who offers to buy your bike sight unseen or without asking any questions. Often, scammers will quickly agree to buy your bike and offer to send a check for amounts greater than the purchase price to get you to pay some amount to a third party. Do not, under any circumstances, agree to pay a third party on behalf of a buyer (e.g., vehicle transporter or other buyer agent).
  • Ask the potential buyer plenty of questions to make sure they are serious about your motorcycle.
    o What made you interested in this bike?
    o Would you like any additional photos or videos?
    o Would you like to set up a pre-purchase inspection?
  • Be cautious. Never include your contact information within the listing itself. Motobilia will share potential buyer contact information with you, but will never share your contact information.
  • If the buyer uses language that sounds robotic or unnatural, don't share your contact information and cease communication.
  • It bears repeating: As a seller, NEVER send money to a buyer. This may seem like straightforward advice, but people will try to pull on heartstrings and garner sympathy to get you to think differently. There is no reason for you to send money to a buyer, third party or agent.
